The collection holds pictures, posters, and news footage of the UCF Football team in its first few years. Footage of specific games including the first UCF Football game against St. Leo College in Tampa, Florida and footage highlighting the history of UCF Football is held here. A poster commissioned by former UCF Football player Michael O'Shaughnessy showing images of the University's football history is contained in this collection.

UCF Football began in January 1979 when the newly inaugurated Dr. Trevor Colborn announced he would look into a football team for the university. Founded as Florida Technological University in 1963, the university began holding classes in 1968. In 1978 its name was changed to University of Central Florida.
